Job description

The Planet Group's client is seeking a Software Security Engineer for a six-month contract-to-hire opportunity. This role involves joining a Software Security Team to provide software remediation for existing vulnerabilities in technology/applications or software in production. The position is remote, working EST hours.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the US, as we are unable to sponsor H1B candidates at this time.

Candidate Requirements:

1. Experience with React, Java, Node, Python
2. Understanding of web application security, static security testing, cloud security, container security — including tools, scanning, triage, risk evaluation, and remediation
3. Deep knowledge of identifying and mitigating application vulnerabilities as per OWASP, WASC, CWE, CVE standards
4. Hands-on experience with tools such as Sonatype, Qualys, SonarQube, and AWS Inspector
5. Ability to advise and guide teams on secure coding practices and security risk mitigation strategies
