Job summary

  • Recognize and manage emergency situations; secure scenes and coordinate responders.
  • Lead investigations, trainings, and department initiatives while complying with laws and policies.
  • Maintain and review security reports, conduct or supervise investigations, and ensure staff scheduling is accurate.

Summary

The Security Shift Manager supervises on-duty security and tribal public safety personnel to ensure that the facility and tribal properties are safe for guests, citizens, and employees. Performs all administrative, investigative, training, and assorted functions of the position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Supervise Security Supervisors Tribal Public Safety Officers, Security Officers and Dispatch Personnel while ensuring they comply with all departmental and company policies and procedures.

Proactively recognize and manage emergency situations.

Assist in emergency situations by securing the scene to prevent further loss or damage, advise personnel of threats and potential threats, summon emergency responders to the incident, and initiate and conduct evacuation procedures.

Conduct covert surveillance operations if required.

Render appropriate first aid to injured persons and follow established protocol for reporting injuries.

Safeguard and maintain highly sensitive and confidential information.

Maintain proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices, weapons and security-related technologies, while staying current with industry advancements

Follow directions and/or orders from Senior Personnel, particularly during an active shooter, assault, or other similar situation.

Ethically lead the organization with methods and actions that fully comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.

Identify potential compliance risks and take necessary actions to eliminate or minimize them.

Promote a culture of compliance within the organization and encourage an environment where team members are comfortable reporting potential violations or misconduct.

Train, engage, mentor and support personnel.

Ability to physically engage with a person who is threatening others and accurately handle and shoot a firearm.

Respond calmly in crisis and stressful situations and make rational decisions when addressing guest and employee issues.

Complete daily activity reports and post-shift data analytics.

Review security reports.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, including all shifts.

Ensure the weekly schedule is complete and accurate, and scheduled staff properly perform their assigned duties.

Coordinate all required departmental training for Security personnel.

Investigate and resolve complaints involving Security personnel.

Conduct or supervise criminal and employee investigations.

Lead by example, employ the “Three Es” of guest service, and follow the R.I.C.H. core values (Respect, Integrity, Commitment and Humility).

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervise Security Supervisors, Tribal Public Safety Supervisors, Tribal Public Safety Officers, Security Officers and Dispatch personnel in the Security Department. Assumes supervisory responsibility for ERT Supervisors and ERT Officers in the absence of the ERT Manager. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws to include training employees, assigning and directing work, evaluating performance, and addressing complaints and disciplinary problems.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree; and three years' experience or equivalent combination of casino security experience, tribal security experience, training experience, investigation experience, law enforcement experience, or event security experience. Internal applicants must be a current supervisor or manager of the Cache Creek Casino Resort Security Department.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations with guests and other employees. Ability to write detailed reports and provide court testimony when necessary. Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to evaluate facts, determine alternative solutions to problems, evaluate courses of action, and make solid decisions.

Age Requirement

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Cache Creek Casino Resort Tribal Gaming License

Must be firearm certified upon hire or must be able to be certified within Six (6) months following the date of hire and must maintain annual certification in firearms once certified.

Completion of the Security Department’s Defense and Detention Course within Six (6) months following the date of hire.

Emergency Medical Responder certified or successful completion of certification no more than Twelve (12) months following date of hire.

Successfully complete all required training

Other Requirements

Must possess their own firearm. The Security department will provide a list of authorized firearms.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electric shock. The employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee is regularly exposed to secondhand tobacco smoke, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
