Job summary

Cook Solutions Group seeks a Full-Time Security Service Technician to join our team in the San Jose, Hollister, and surrounding CA areas. You will install and service electronic and physical security systems, respond to service calls, conduct site surveys, and train customers and teammates in line with our "We Make It Happen!" culture.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED, 2–5 years of security installation experience, a valid driver’s license, and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2–5 years of electronic and physical security service/installation experience.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Knowledge of security equipment (alarm systems, access control, video/CCTV) preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to a week; may lift up to 100 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Travel to client sites for alarm troubleshooting and repair.
• Install and service electronic and physical security products.
• Test installed equipment for performance and code compliance.
• Maintain truck stock and equipment inventory.
• Train less experienced employees on procedures and techniques.
• Communicate project status to management and customers.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, installing wires and equipment, responding to service calls, conducting site surveys, performing installation startup, system commissioning, and customer training by performing the following duties.

Location: San Jose, Santa Cruz, Monterey & Hollister, CA area

Pay: $25 - 35+ hour DOE and Certifications

What you'll do:

• Travels to client's site for alarm failure troubleshooting and repair.
• Installs and services electronic and physical security products including pulling wire per
• Installs and wires electronic equipment used in systems.
• Accounts for all installation and service tools/equipment and all job parts/inventory.
• Tests all installed/serviced equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with customers' requirements and all applicable codes.
• Troubleshoots and repairs electronic and physical security equipment.
• Communicates important project status information to management as necessary (installation or service).
• Communicates with customers on job status or completion (installation or service).
• Conducts site surveys upon request of management.
• Completes and turns in all required paperwork in a timely manner according to established procedures and deadlines, i.e., time sheets, expense reports, change orders, equipment transfers, etc.
• Follows Purchasing procedures using database system and supervisor approval to account for products needed.
• Maintains and controls assigned truck stock inventory in an organized manner. Reports stock items during company inventory audits.
• Maintains control and safeguards all company or customer property or information of which employee has been entrusted.
• Ensures company vehicle is maintained according to established standards. Keeps vehicle clean, inside, and out.
• Maintains clean driving record and operates company vehicles using safe driving practices.
• Responsible for training less experienced employees and trainees on company procedures, systems, and installation/service techniques.
• Ensures all work is preformed to CSG quality standards and practices.
• Works in compliance with Federal/State laws regarding safety of self and others always.
• Expected to solicit new business when not working on service or installation.

What you'll bring:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• 2 - 5 years of electronic and physical security service and installation experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Knowledge of security equipment such as alarm systems, access control, video, CCTV systems, drive up systems, & under-counter teller equipment is preferred.
• Knowledge of Bosch, DMP, March DVR, 3VR, and/or Lenel Access control product lines preferred.
• Customer service experience is a plus.
• Ability to travel up to a week if necessary.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
