Job summary

Insight Global seeks a Security Service Technician / Lead Commercial Installer to install, service and troubleshoot security systems at commercial sites across Ohio. The role leads projects, coordinates onsite work, and may train junior technicians while ensuring customer satisfaction.

Ideal candidates will have 4+ years in commercial security, IP camera and access control experience, and be licensed (Ohio Fire Alarm). Travel statewide with a valid license and clean background.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of commercial security, low-voltage, or related industry experience.
• Experience leading installations and capable of running a job independently.
• Experience with IP Cameras and Access Control Systems.
• Experience with Genetec and/or Pro-Watch.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
• State of Ohio Fire Alarm License (required for service-focused work).
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass background and drug screenings.

Responsibilities

Job description

Title: Security Service Technician / Lead Commercial Installer

Duration: Permanent

Schedule: Onsite

Monday-Friday, typically 7:00 AM - 3:45 PM (45-minute lunch)

Location: Columbus, OH (must live within 50 miles of branch 43228 for Service Technician role)

Travel throughout the State of Ohio

Hotel accommodations provided when necessary

Day to Day:

• Install, service, maintain, and troubleshoot security systems across commercial customer sites
• Lead installation projects, coordinate work onsite, and occasionally train junior technicians
• Work with customers to ensure systems are functioning properly and explain system capabilities
• Travel statewide to support installation and service projects
• Interpret blueprints, diagrams, and system specifications to complete installations and repairs

Responsibilities:

• Lead commercial security installation projects from start to finish
• Install, service, and troubleshoot intrusion, access control, video surveillance, intercom, and monitoring systems
• Diagnose system issues and implement solutions
• Ensure all work is completed safely and according to code requirements
• Communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and internal teams
• Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Support ongoing training and development initiatives

MUST-HAVES

• 4+ years of commercial security, low-voltage, or related industry experience
• Experience leading installations and capable of running a job independently
• Experience with IP Cameras and Access Control Systems
• Experience with Genetec and/or Pro-Watch
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications
• Experience troubleshooting and servicing security systems
• State of Ohio Fire Alarm License (required for service-focused work)
• Experience with platforms such as DMP, Hanwha, Breevo, and Honeywell systems
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to pass background and drug screenings
