Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Commercial Service Technician to troubleshoot and service security systems including burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV and card access. You will work from a remote location with all tools provided and deliver the highest level of service to resolve building inefficiencies.

You will locate and repair damaged equipment, coordinate inspections with authorities, provide quotes, upsell opportunities, and ensure the facility runs efficiently.

Qualifications

• 3+ years installing and inspecting/servicing security systems (Tyco or equivalent).
• Experience with Card Access/CCTV/IP cameras.
• Strong communication skills and an electrical/electronic background.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass background check.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.

What you will do

A Johnson Controls Service Technician is a troubleshooter and service expert. You will alleviate concerns the customer may have regarding a security system. You will advise customers and the customer care center of the status of systems and processes inspections. You will repair or replace burglar alarms, fire alarms, CCTV systems, Card Access systems and other security equipment. This Technician will be set up with all of the tools and equipment needed to work independently from a remote location. Provide our customers with the highest level of service to solve building inefficiencies and resolve service related items. As a trusted advisor to our customers you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service

How you will do it

As a Commercial Service Technician, you will locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring; readjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation; prepare trouble order forms to report temporary repairs. You will also coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies. Service Technicians will be responsible for the service and repair Commercial security/Fire Alarm/CCTV/Card Access systems. Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities. Provide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.

What we look for

• Required: Minimum 3 years’ experience installing and inspecting/servicing Tyco Integrated Security or comparable product line.
• Required: Experience with Card Access/CCTV/IP cameras
• Required: Excellent communication skills.
• Required: Electrical/Electronic background.
• Required: Valid driver's license.
• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Required: Must be able to successfully pass government-required background screen.
• Preferred: Some college or technical school preferred.
• Preferred: Bosch Certification.
• Preferred: Ccure Certification
• Preferred: Lenel Certification
• Preferred: Hirsch Certification

Pay & Benefits

This is a Bargaining Unit Position. Pay Range: $35-37 hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role. However, we recognize that exceptional candidates may bring unique skills and experiences that exceed the typical profile.
