Job summary

State of Wyoming's Wyoming State Hospital is seeking a dedicated security professional to help protect patients, staff, and visitors. This on-site role focuses on emergency response, patrols, and maintaining a safe environment within a state government facility.

Responsibilities

• Respond to medical emergencies and security calls involving patients and staff.
• Patrol and assist as needed by vehicle or on foot.
• Conduct monthly and quarterly fire drills, evaluate and document each area's performance during the drill, and participate in briefings afterward to suggest ways to become more efficient and identify what may have been done incorrectly.
• Maintain safety equipment
• Transportation of staff and other individuals
• Respond to patient behavior emergencies and assume a lead role for difficult, aggressive, or combative patient behaviors.
• Assist local law enforcement with emergency detentions
• Train staff in the use of mechanical restraints
• Ensure staff and visitors obey stop signs and speed limits, and it acts as a deterrent to would-be trespassers
