Security Safety Officer - FT 3rd Shift - Lakeland

We are seeking a dedicated Security Safety Officer for the third shift at Lakeland. The role involves providing security services with a focus on professionalism, fairness, and compassion, adhering to policies, procedures, and training.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Performing interior and exterior patrols to ensure safety, identify vulnerabilities, hazards, and fire risks, and manage patient valuables and contraband searches.
  • Responding to workplace violence incidents, service calls, and emergencies such as fire, lost children, and active threats.
  • Investigating incidents and completing reports, addressing complaints, and escalating issues appropriately.
  • Maintaining partnerships with departments, law enforcement, and first responders, and delivering security awareness education.
  • Ensuring compliance with all safety and security regulations, and maintaining department equipment and uniforms.

Qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of experience in security, public safety, or customer service responding to emergent situations.
  • Security Officer Healthcare Certification (CHSO) within two years of appointment.
  • Stop the Bleed Certification within 1 year of hire.
  • Valid driver’s license, FOID or CCW license, and certification in TASER use within 90 days of hire.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong emotional intelligence, ability to remain calm under pressure, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, handle stressful situations, and physically intervene if necessary.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and drive throughout the shift, lift up to 35 lbs, and handle emotionally charged situations.

This is a full-time, entry-level position in the management and manufacturing sector within healthcare facilities. The role is critical in maintaining a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
