Schedule Details/Additional Information:
- Shift: 2nd
- Week 1: Sunday 1500-2300, Tuesday 1500-2300, Friday 1100-1900, Saturday 1500-2300
- Week 2: Sunday 1500-2300, Tuesday 1100-1900, Friday 1500-2300, Saturday 1500-2300
Major Responsibilities:
- Provides security services with a customer-service approach, focusing on professionalism, fairness, and compassion even in challenging circumstances and in accordance with policies, procedures, and training.
- Inspires confidence in patients, visitors, and team members by presenting a professional, approachable, and service-oriented appearance and demeanor. Is alert, observant, and ethical. Enforces all safety and security rules and maintains Department uniform and equipment in good repair.
- Performs routine interior and exterior patrols, including inspections, audits, valuables management, contraband searches, and assisting visitors and team members.
- Responds to workplace violence, service calls, and emergencies, including physical interventions when necessary.
- Investigates incidents, completes reports, and addresses complaints.
- Builds partnerships with departments and law enforcement, providing security education and ensuring policy compliance.
- Maintains training standards and assists with exterior traffic and crowd control.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:
- Security Officer Healthcare Certification (CHSO) within two years of appointment.
- Unarmed Guard License (North Carolina) within 1 year.
- Stop the Bleed Certification within 1 year.
- Valid driver’s license.
- FOID Card or CCW license.
- Conducted Energy Weapon (TASER) certification within 90 days of hire.
Education Required:
- High school diploma or GED
Experience Required:
- Typically 1 year in security, public safety, or customer service, including emergency response experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- High emotional intelligence, professionalism, and calmness under pressure.
- Ability to collaborate, communicate effectively, and exercise sound judgment.
- Physical fitness and ability to handle stressful and potentially violent situations.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, drive, and lift up to 35 lbs.
- Correctable vision to 20/20.
- Exposure to hazards and emotionally charged situations.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Knowledge of Behavioral Threat Assessment, Use of Force Review, Crime Prevention.
- Ability to facilitate meetings and present material.
