Job summary

Riverbend Church is seeking a Christ-centered Director of Safety and Security to develop and direct security strategies, protect people and assets, and implement safety programs across the Riverbend campus and affiliates in Austin, TX. The role reports to the Executive Operations Pastor and is split 75% at Riverbend Christian School and 25% at Riverbend Church.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice or related field (or equivalent training).
• Minimum of five years of law enforcement experience (10+ years total).
• Guardian Program certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• First aid / CPR certification.
• Experience with surveillance systems and security protocols.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to campus leadership on security plans and incidents.
• Coordinate safety for staff, volunteers, and guests across services/events.
• Develop and maintain safety policies and procedures.
• Oversee electronic surveillance systems at all campuses.
• Manage day-to-day security for Riverbend Christian School.
• Coordinate training for frontline church teams (ushers, greeters, parking).
• Collaborate with local law enforcement and private security to prevent incidents.
• Plan protective services for off-site church events.
