Job summary

United Protective Services, Inc. is seeking a Security Officer (Rover) for a busy commercial property in Houston. You will patrol grounds by golf cart, monitor entry points, and maintain a visible security presence to keep tenants and visitors safe.

The role is part-time, 30 hours per week (Thu–Sat) with shifts 7:00 AM–6:00 PM and 3:00 PM–11:00 PM; pay is $15.00 per hour. Reliable transportation, a valid driver's license, and strong communication are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a security role.
• Must live within 20 miles of site (77054).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license; golf cart operation required.
• Reliable transportation and strong communication skills.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of parking areas, exterior perimeters, and shared property grounds using a golf cart.
• Monitor entry points and ensure only authorized vehicles and personnel access the site.
• Provide a visible security presence to deter incidents, vandalism, and unauthorized behavior.
• Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, emergencies, and tenant or visitor concerns.
• Write clear, detailed daily activity reports, incident reports, and other documentation.
• Communicate effectively with property management, and tenants; enforce property rules.
• Serve as a courteous and professional point of contact for tenants and guests.
