Job summary

Nightfall in San Francisco seeks a hands-on security researcher with a public voice to drive the DevRel function for security operations and data security.

You will test models and AI tools, document findings, and explain them clearly on video and in writing. Build open-source detections and demos, speak at conferences, and help educate SOC and data security teams and practitioners across industry.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in security engineering, detection, or incident response.
• Established public voice in security: talks, a podcast, or open-source.
• You can code, work with APIs, and debug across systems.
• Understand enterprise data movement across SaaS, endpoints, and AI tools.
• Able to explain technical findings clearly under questioning.
• Enjoy communicating with security practitioners on camera and in person.
• Follow through on software and content you publish.

Responsibilities

• Run 'The Model Did What?' investigations, test models and AI tools against enterprise workflows.
• Explain findings on camera and in writing; produce technical videos, blogs and demos.
• Build open-source detections, scanners, labs and utilities for practitioners.
• Speak at security conferences and run hands-on workshops.
• Build community through podcasts, livestreams and practitioner networks.
• Equip sales engineers with realistic demo environments and documentation.
