Lanteris Space Systems is seeking a vigilant front-desk security specialist in Palo Alto, CA to manage daily visitor sign-ins, verify government IDs, and issue temporary badges. The role involves coordinating with the Security Operations Center (SOC) before granting access to restricted ITAR/EAR areas and escorting visitors as required.

You will maintain badge logs, NDA acknowledgments, and logs of returns while upholding strict policy compliance and protecting sensitive information.

Please review the job details below. Manage front-lobby visitor control, processing daily visitors, vendors, contractors, and customers through sign-in, government ID verification, and temporary badge issuance. Verify U.S. Citizenship/Person status and visit authorization, coordinating with the Security Operations Center before granting access to areas containing ITAR/EAR export-controlled hardware and technical data. Coordinate escort assignments with hosting employees, so that visitors stayed escorted in restricted and controlled areas. Administer visitor management system records, including pre-registrations, NDA acknowledgments, badge returns, and end-of-day reconciliation of outstanding badges. Enforce site security policies at the point of entry, including badge display, anti-tailgating, and prohibited-item and personal electronic device restrictions. Escalate suspicious individuals, unauthorized access attempts, and lobby incidents to the Security Operations Center (SOC) and on-site security officers. Issue, track, and audit temporary badges, parking passes, and loaner access cards. Reported discrepancies to Security leadership. Support badging operations for new hires and contractors, including photo capture, credential printing, and access-level request routing as needed. Serve as the facility's first point of contact, delivering professional, courteous service to executives, customers, government representatives, and job candidates. Answer and route calls on a multi-line phone system, take messages, and direct inquiries to the correct departments while protecting sensitive company and personnel information (PII). Receive, log, and distribute incoming mail, packages, and courier deliveries to Mail Room personnel, and coordinate with Shipping and Receiving on freight and controlled shipments. Assist executive and administrative staff with conference rooms for meetings, customer visits, and facility tours, including catering and IT coordination as needed. Maintain lobby appearance, supplies, safety briefing materials, and required PPE for visitors and company personnel. Support emergency response by running visitor accountability during evacuations and drills and handing visitor logs to incident command. Maintain confidentiality of visitor records, employee information, and proprietary company data in accordance with information-protection and export-control requirements. Perform general administrative support, including data entry, office supply ordering, front-desk reporting, and special projects as assigned. And all other tasks, as assigned.

The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the salary range provided below and is determined based on job-related factors, including, but not limited to, the experience, qualifications, knowledge, skills, geographic work location, and market conditions. Candidates with the minimum necessary experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skillsets for the position should not expect to receive the upper end of the pay range. The base pay for this position within California is: $20.70 - $34.50 hourly. For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
