Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Security Project Manager to align program security roadmaps with goals and manage programs end-to-end in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.

The ideal candidate has extensive project management experience in classified settings, active TS clearance with SCI eligibility, and strong cross-functional leadership capabilities, including Agile practices and vendor coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, management, security studies, or a related field.
• 5+ years of project or program management experience, including experience supporting classified or restricted programs.
• Experience working in Special Access Program, SCI, or other highly controlled environments.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and lifecycle management.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and balancing competing priorities.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project scheduling/reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key contact for internal stakeholders and business units in support of security programs and initiatives.
• Develop security program roadmaps aligned with business objectives, compliance needs, and organizational priorities.
• Manage security programs from start to finish, including planning, coordination, resource management, progress reporting, and post-implementation review.
• Lead Agile-based program activities such as sprint planning, backlog coordination, team facilitation, and retrospectives.
• Track dependencies across teams and remove blockers to enable efficient delivery of security initiatives.
• Oversee security-related projects, including coordination of vendors, financial tracking, and operational support activities.
• Support compliance and audit activities by coordinating schedules, tracking requirements, and identifying risks or challenges.
• Build effective working relationships with business leaders, technical teams, and security stakeholders.
• Represent the program or security function in meetings with leadership and communicate complex issues in a clear, actionable manner.
• Assist with the deployment and adoption of new security tools, processes, and capabilities.
• Monitor and report on program health, team performance, milestones, and key metrics.
• Promote continuous improvement by incorporating lessons learned and improving program management processes.
