Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer in Pasadena, CA. The role involves patrolling, monitoring for security concerns, and communicating effectively with clients and the public.

You’ll use our shift-pickup platform to select open shifts, enabling you to tailor a schedule that fits your availability and gain varied site experience. Responsibilities include responding to incidents, writing reports, and assisting customers and visitors in a courteous manner.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent or 5 years of verifiable experience
• Licensing requirements may be required
• Valid driver’s license if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle
• Background check conducted as a condition of employment
• Drug screen conducted as allowed by law
• No prior experience required
• Must be at least 18 years old (21 if armed)
• Reliability and adaptability to different post assignments
• Operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
• Interact cordially and communicate with the public
• Excellent oral and written communication
• Active listening and problem-solving skills
• Assess and evaluate situations quickly and accurately
• Mediate conflicts with tact and diplomacy

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or unauthorized presence
• Warn violators of rule infractions (loitering, smoking, etc.)
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances/exits
• Observe departing personnel to protect company property and ensure proper removal
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents/incidents; maintain logs
• Aid customers, employees, visitors in a courteous, professional manner
• Make emergency notifications as necessary per site Post Orders
