Job description

Security Police Officer - Armed - 40 hrs/wk - Variable Shift - Wyandotte

Under general supervision, monitors Henry Ford Health facilities and properties to protect persons and property associated with Henry Ford Health against injury or loss. Directs visitors, patients, and employees to appropriate locations and intervenes to prevent and control disturbances. Keeps appropriate persons informed of activities, events, and incidents. Summons appropriate assistance as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and protect Henry Ford Health facilities and properties.
• Direct visitors, patients, and staff to proper locations.
• Intervene in disturbances and maintain safety.
• Inform relevant personnel of incidents and activities.
• Call for assistance when needed.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• Successful completion of a psychological evaluation.
• Must be at least 21 years old for armed security role.
• Current full-time police officer in Michigan, or retired/resigned in good standing from a Michigan police department, or qualified reciprocal out-of-state officer, or security/military experience as specified.

Certifications/Licenses:

• P.A. 330 Certification required.
• Valid Michigan Concealed Pistol License.
• Valid Michigan driver's license.
• Completion of firearms training and state certification.

Additional Requirements

• Successful psychiatric and background checks.
• No felony or disqualifying misdemeanor convictions.
• No dishonorable military discharge.
• Not subject to warrants.
• Possession of valid CPL.
• Completion of Henry Ford’s PA 330 training unless qualified for an exception.
