Job summary

Soldier Security Inc. is seeking a dependable security guard to patrol premises and ensure safety of personnel and assets. You will identify problems, enforce laws and company protocol, and maintain a calm, authoritative presence while responding to incidents.

Responsibilities include gate checks, guest procedures, deterring offenses, documenting events, and coordinating with other security staff. Graveyard shifts and long hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Knowledge of self-defense and/or previous work in security a plus; First-Aid/CPR certification a plus
• Able pass state background check and drug test; possess a clean driving record
• Excellent problem solver with experience in conflict resolution; able to quickly deescalate stressful situations
• Physically and mentally fit, able to work long hours on one’s feet, including graveyard shifts
• A confident and calm disposition
• Willing to intervene in potentially dangerous situations in order to protect others
• Keen observation skills; adept at identifying suspicious behavior and activities
• Solid judgment and moral aptitude

Responsibilities

• Be vigilant and alert at all times, always looking for unusual or dangerous activity
• Maintain a confident and authoritative presence to deter potential offenders
• Stand guard at building entrances/exits; ensure only those authorized enter and exit; perform security checks on individuals entering the building
• Assist with guest check-in and security procedures; provide guest passes for visitors as needed
• Confiscate contraband and any prohibited items
• Escort employees to their vehicles at night if requested
• Apprehend and detain trespassers
• Maintain records of and report incidents to superiors
• Work collaboratively and communicate with other security personnel to maintain a safe environment
• Walk the perimeter of the building and/or property, looking for possible security breaches and act accordingly
• Monitor security surveillance cameras and video screens
• Set and respond to alarms; sound alarms and/or call for outside assistance when needed in emergencies
• Take instructions from supervisors; work according to company protocol, state laws, and regulations
