A leading school district is seeking a Patrol Officer to ensure safety and security across its facilities. The role involves conducting patrols, responding to emergencies, and maintaining a professional demeanor. Candidates must have a high school diploma and pass various pre-employment tests. PURPOSE OF JOB :
Working with diverse security staff and other school staff utilizing the equipment and technology in the Integrated security systems and adhering to established safety procedures and protocolsto protect the students, staff, equipment, and facilities of the Kansas City Public Schools District. The patrol officer's actions cannot be intolerably harsh and rigid when enforcing the safety policies, procedures, and protocols. The patrol officers must always have respect and regard for the students and staff's emotional and social well-being. Job duties require continued readiness to respond to situations within specified departmental procedures that may be life-threatening or harmful, including exposure to dangerous chemicals or other toxic substances, infectious diseases, fire, gunshots, physical confrontations, etc. Duties are performed as assigned in all weather conditions and on any shift (day or night). Conduct foot patrols (monitor) inside and outside assigned schools.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Note : Subject to post-accident drug screens and resonalbe suspicion drug screens.
Note : Subject to physical abilities testing following an illness or injury that requires an officer to be absent from duty for a prolonged period.
Note : Must pass the district drug screen annually when renewing the Private Officers' Commission.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS : The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
The job requires the employee to sit, stand and walk for long periods. The position requires the employee to speak, hear, use hands, and fingers, reach with hands and fingers, bend, and stoop. The employee must be able to walk & run up and down stairs and engage in physical confrontations in all types of climatic conditions during the day or night. The job requires the employee to be able to do some lifting to 50 lbs. The position requires that the employee be able to hear. Visual ability requires mono and color vision. Vision must be correctable to 20 / 20. The job requires the employee to be able to drive a motor vehicle for long periods during the daytime and nighttime and in all types of weather conditions. The position requires the employee to enter and exit a motor vehicle several times throughout their assigned work shift. The position requires that the employee pass the pre-employment physical abilities test.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT :
Length of work year : 12 months 8 hours per day / 5 days per week
