Job summary

Sanderson Government & Defence is seeking a Senior / Security Operations & Vulnerability Management Consultant to lead technical security workstreams for enterprise and government clients. You will drive vulnerability management, IAM initiatives and SOC alignment across complex environments.

You will partner with client teams, design processes, mentor junior staff and deliver measurable improvements in security posture while leveraging Microsoft Defender, E5, Tenable One and Patch My PC.

Qualifications

• Strong cyber security operations background with enterprise or consultancy experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of vulnerability management programmes across enterprise environments.
• Act as the primary technical lead for vulnerability remediation activities and risk reduction initiatives.
• Collaborate with Security Operations Centre teams to identify, investigate and remediate vulnerabilities.
• Design and implement vulnerability management processes, standards and reporting frameworks.
• Guide deployment and optimization of Microsoft Defender technologies.
• Support clients in maximizing Microsoft E5 security capabilities.
• Lead IAM workstreams within security programs.
• Drive continuous improvement across security operations processes and controls.
• Manage scanning and exposure platforms including Tenable One.
• Oversee endpoint management and patching initiatives with Patch My PC and Microsoft tech.
• Produce technical documentation, risk assessments and executive reporting.
• Serve as trusted technical advisor to client stakeholders across security and technology teams.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Security Operations and Vulnerability Management Consultant to join a growing cyber consultancy team. This is a highly technical role requiring a hands-on cyber professional who can work closely with client Security Operations Centres and lead the delivery of critical security improvement programmes.

You will act as the technical lead across vulnerability management and Identity and Access Management workstreams, providing subject matter expertise and ensuring the successful delivery of security initiatives. Working with stakeholders across security, infrastructure and technology functions, you will help organisations reduce cyber risk, improve security operations maturity and enhance their overall security posture.

This role would suit someone with a strong operational security background who combines technical depth with the ability to engage stakeholders and drive delivery across complex environments.

Key Responsibilities
