Job description

Please note that this position is based on our campus in Madison, WI, and requires relocation to the area. We recruit nationally and provide financial relocation assistance.

As a Security Operations Technician with Epic Hosting, you will be part of a SOC team that secures Epic's SaaS infrastructure for some of the largest healthcare organizations in the country. You’ll identify security events, coordinate investigations, and responses across multiple teams. You will use your critical thinking skills to determine long-term process improvements rather than quick fixes. The minimum requirements include:

  • Familiarity with enterprise firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, VPNs, application whitelisting, and data loss prevention
  • Knowledge of log analysis, monitoring, system/network auditing, or experience in a SOC
  • Security certifications such as SANS/GIAC GSEC, ISC2 SSCP, EC-Council ECSA, or CompTIA Security+ are a plus
  • Proficiency with scripting languages like PowerShell is helpful
  • Experience with access management, Active Directory, and physical security is a plus
  • Familiarity with SIEM, MFA, and ITIL tools is beneficial
  • Relocation to Madison, WI (reimbursed)
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
  • Availability for 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift
  • COVID-19 vaccination

As a member of the Hosting team, your responsibilities include:

  • Adhering to policies and escalating issues when policies are not followed
  • Escalating potential security incidents with relevant information
  • Meeting all security responsibilities outlined in policies and procedures
