Job summary

Mississippi Power is seeking a Corporate Security Lead in Gulfport, MS to oversee contract guard operations and strengthen protection of personnel, assets, and critical infrastructure. The role supports Corporate Security programs, NERC CIP requirements, and site procedures, with project management responsibilities.

The position serves as the site’s corporate security representative, providing updates to leadership and developing future leaders.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, security management, or related field preferred.
• 3+ years' experience in security or related agencies required.
• Working knowledge of physical security operations: patrol, access control, alarm response, CCTV monitoring.
• Familiarity with electronic security systems (CCURE, Avigilon).
• Understanding of Corporate Security policies and guidelines.
• Knowledge of applicable criminal laws at federal, state and local level.
• Ability to manage, protect, store, and transmit sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Lead physical security projects and oversee complex assignments as the site’s corporate security SME.
• Maintain situational awareness, manage incidents, and contribute to safe site operations.
• Prepare incident reports, logs, and documentation; conduct patrols; monitor access; enforce NERC CIP requirements.
• Review contract guard reports to ensure policy enforcement; oversee access management, visitor processing, and badging.
• Lead and support security events; plan drills, training, and continuous improvement; train contract guards.
• Serve as liaison with law enforcement and emergency responders; represent Corporate Security in leadership meetings; act as after-hours security contact.
