Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a cybersecurity professional to investigate and respond to cyber incidents within our network environment. You will collect and analyze data from security monitoring tools, IDS alerts, firewalls, and host logs to inform response actions and risk management.

The role requires experience with incident response, vulnerability management, and security operations across cloud and on-premise environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field with 3+ years of IT security experience
• Proven ability to manage tasks and work in teams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with incident response, vulnerability management, IDS/IPS, threat intel, and security operations
• Technical knowledge across cloud and on-premise environments
• Ability to analyze IDS alerts, firewall logs, network logs and host logs
• Ability to support, monitor, troubleshoot and enhance security monitoring and response tools

Responsibilities

• Investigate and respond to cyber incidents within the network environment
• Collect and analyze data from security monitoring tools, intrusion detection alerts, firewall and network traffic logs, and host system logs
• Recommend and document information security requirements and controls
• Provide guidance on information security policies, requirements, and their applicability
• Participate in incident response, risk assessment, risk management, vulnerability assessment, and vulnerability management activities
• Participate in information security projects and initiatives
• Perform operational tasks supporting intrusion detection and prevention, security monitoring, vulnerability remediation, and security incident prevention and remediation
• Support, maintain, monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance security monitoring and response tools, methodologies, software, and hardware
• Analyze information security tool data and provide reports and recommended response actions to management
• Publish regular status reports and submit them to management
• Establish operational plans and develop and implement products, processes, standards, or operational plans impacting functional results
