Job summary

Canyon AeroConnect is seeking an Information Security Specialist to build and operate the internal security program. This on-site role works across security operations, IAM, endpoint and network defense, and compliance, with growth toward a senior security position over time.

You’ll collaborate with IT, engineering, and business teams to keep the company secure without slowing progress, and participate in an on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Solid fundamentals in networking, operating systems, and authentication protocols.
• Experience with IT operations or information security in regulated environments.
• Ability to script in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation.
• Willingness to join on-call rotation and respond to incidents outside business hours.
• Strong written and verbal communication suited for non-technical audiences.
• Familiarity with CMMC and European requirements such as Cyber Essentials.
• Ability to obtain industry certifications within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day security operations including SIEM and EDR alert triage.
• Administer IAM systems: SSO, MFA, directory services, onboarding and offboarding.
• Maintain and improve endpoint security, patch management, and disk encryption.
• Assist with firewall reviews, VPN admin, and network segmentation.
• Support vulnerability management and remediation coordination.
• Assist with regulatory compliance activities and audits.
• Develop security awareness content and conduct phishing simulations.
