Job Title: Security Operations Center Dispatcher

Entity: LGH

Location: Lancaster General Hospital - 555 N Duke St, Lancaster, PA 17602

Hours: 0.4 FTE (16 Hours per week), Evening Shift

Work Rotation: Week One - Sunday through Thursday off, Friday through Sunday 3 PM - 11 PM; Week 2 - Monday 3 PM - 11 PM, Tuesday through Saturday off

Summary:
  • Responsible for functioning as the dispatcher of the Security Operations Center for LG Health.
Responsibilities:
  • Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:
  • The Security Operations Center (SOC) serves as a central hub for receiving security assistance calls.
  • Dispatches and tracks Hospital Security Officers on emergent and non-emergent events.
  • Operate a radio dispatch center for incoming and outgoing communications.
  • Elevate response to local emergency responders as necessary if the incident exceeds internal capabilities, in alignment with HICS standards.
  • Monitor access control operations.
  • Monitor burglar alarms.
  • Provide staff protection and patient elopement monitoring.
  • Oversee a video surveillance center for camera monitoring.
  • The SOC is responsible for managing computer-aided dispatching (CAD) and incident reporting applications.
  • Follow Emergency Procedures Guidelines Code: K, H, Blue, Grey, Condition 8, red, yellow, green, amber, and Black.
Credentials:
  • Ntl Registry of EMT (Preferred)
Education or Equivalent Experience:
  • H.S. Diploma/GED (Required)
  • One (1) year of experience in EMS, Emergency Dispatching, Police, Fire, or Security; and/or one (1) year working with police, hospital, and/or community transport.
  • Customer Service Skills and Communication Skills
  • Computer Experience: Windows Word, Excel, Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD)
  • Recognized Telecommunicator Course or Emergency Medical Technician (Preferred)
