Senior Cyber Event Analyst

2-3-month W2 contract (with potential for extension/FT conversion)

100% Remote (Second Shift: Sunday-Thursday; 5pm-1am EST)

Pay Rate- $60-$65/hour

Responsibilities:

Our Fortune 500 media client’s Cyber Defense Operations team is responsible for providing cyber threat intelligence, event analysis, incident response, and threat hunting across the organization in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. The Senior Cyber Event Analyst will analyze, escalate, and respond to security events and alerts, supporting the organization’s cybersecurity posture.

The ideal candidate should have a working knowledge of security technologies and methodologies, with a focus on evidence preservation, data analysis, and response strategies. This role involves shift work, including holidays and on-call rotations, to ensure 24x7 monitoring and response.

The responsibilities include:

• Triage, scope, and disposition security alerts across multiple platforms (Cloud, Hosts, Networks, Applications, Email)
• Document evidence, escalate incidents, and support during cybersecurity events
• Manage security incident tickets, analyze threat data, and build evidence-backed dispositions
• Perform containment and remediation actions, such as network isolation and indicator blocking
• Maintain detailed reports and documentation, contribute to response playbooks, and identify operational gaps
• Support team mentoring and act as a SME for security policies and procedures

The qualifications include:

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in IT or Cybersecurity, relevant certifications, or equivalent experience
• At least 4 years in Cyber Defense, Incident Response, or SOC roles
• Experience with cybersecurity tools, log investigations, forensic analysis, and cloud security (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Knowledge of security frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, NIST, Kill Chain, Diamond Model)
• Strong communication skills, self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented

Desired skills include scripting (Python), experience with enterprise security tools, and supporting Fortune 1000 or media/entertainment sectors.
