Job description

We are representing a global financial firm looking for a SOC Analyst who will join a collaborative Security Operations team where you\'ll play a key role in protecting the organization from evolving cyber threats.

This is a full-time/permanent role.

Location: Onsite in NYC - Local candidates only

No 3rd parties please. This role is not eligible for employment-based immigration sponsorship. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.

This role will work alongside an external Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP), you\'ll investigate security events, strengthen detection capabilities, and build automation that improves the speed and quality of incident response.

What We\'re Looking For

• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with a passion for solving security challenges.
• Experience investigating security events or working with security monitoring technologies.
• Hands-on scripting or automation experience (Python, PowerShell, or similar).
• Familiarity with SIEM, EDR, cloud security, identity platforms, and modern security operations practices.
• Experience in cybersecurity, IT, security operations, or other analytical roles.
• Bachelor\'s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

• Experience developing or tuning detections in platforms such as Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Elastic, or similar SIEM technologies.
• SQL or other data querying experience.
• Exposure to AI-assisted security operations or workflow automation tools.
• Threat hunting or proactive detection experience.
