Job summary

CAI is seeking a Security Operations Analyst for a 12-month+ onsite contract in Columbia, SC. You will support active defense, establish and enhance information systems security and compliance per applicable policies, and work with government clients and cross-functional teams.

The role requires a strong IT security background, incident response experience, and excellent communication skills. Onsite work with collaboration across multiple teams and vendors is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in information technology, computer science, or a related technical field; with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience or a high school diploma with six years of relevant work experience.
• 6+ years of experience in IT System Security or System Administration
• Experience with incident response procedures and practices
• Work and/or consulting experience in federal, state, city or local government
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio) and ability to follow branding templates
• Willingness to learn and take on new tasks; able to work independently or in a team
• Willingness to collaborate with multiple teams and vendors
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to report on status and meet deadlines
• Strong understanding of enterprise operations and secure best practices
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to adapt to leadership and cross-functional teams with varying knowledge

Responsibilities

• Assist in the day-to-day duties of SOC monitoring activities, tools and processes
• Provide hands-on support of OCS security tools
• Conduct threat hunts for evidence of compromise
• Monitor security technologies for alerts
• Investigate incidents, gathering evidence, and analyzing data
• Analyze anomalous activity and potential threats to agency resources
• Collaborate with staff, leadership and partners to support security and compliance risk mitigation
