Alliance Security is seeking highly reliable and professional Security Officers to join our team and ensure the safety and security of commercial properties in New York City. As a Part-Time, Weekend Security Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring and protecting assigned properties, responding to security incidents, and providing exceptional customer service to tenants and visitors. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to contribute to the safety of commercial environments.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a visible presence at assigned properties, ensuring the safety and security of all tenants, employees, and visitors during weekend shifts.
• Monitor surveillance systems, including CCTV cameras and alarm systems, to detect and prevent unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, or other security breaches.
• Conduct routine patrols of the property, including common areas, building interior/exterior areas, to deter potential criminal activities and identify any safety concerns.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, or alarms, taking immediate action to mitigate risks, notify appropriate personnel, and document incidents accurately.
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting tenants and visitors with directions, information, and access control, while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
• Monitor and control access points, ensuring only authorized individuals are granted entry, and verifying identification as necessary.
• Prepare and submit detailed written reports on security incidents, daily activities, and any unusual occurrences, ensuring accurate documentation of events.
• Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies and emergency services as needed, providing assistance and information during investigations or emergency situations.
• Attend training sessions and meetings as required, maintaining a high level of proficiency in security procedures and protocols.

Requirements:

• Valid New York State Security Guard License – valid for no less than 3 months after hire date.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional security training or certifications are a plus.
• Proven experience in security or a related field, preferably in a commercial property setting.
• Excellent observational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to detect and respond to potential security threats effectively.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of interacting with a diverse range of individuals in a professional and courteous manner.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of accountability and responsibility.
• Physical fitness and the ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods, as well as lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required.
• Familiarity with security systems, such as CCTV cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems.
• Knowledge of local laws and regulations pertaining to security and safety procedures.
• Integrity, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
• Former Law Enforcement/Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.

Compensation:

• $18/hour
• Schedules can be 16- or 24-hour shifts
