Allied Universal in Des Moines, IA is seeking an unarmed Security Officer to monitor loading docks, verify access, and deter incidents at a busy logistics site. You will deliver courteous service, patrol assigned areas, and respond to alarms with calm, clear communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees by following site policies and emergency procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of loading docks, trailer yards, parking areas, entry/exit points, and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and notify site contacts or responders.
• Complete activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications with professional presence.

Pay Rate: $16.08 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Thur 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Fri 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sat 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sun 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and/or employees by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of loading docks, trailer yards, parking areas, entry and exit points, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify unusual activity and support site operations.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Complete required activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications while maintaining a professional presence throughout the location.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
