Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer-Variable schedule in Aurora, CO. The role offers 30–40 hours per week with shifting schedules through our Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program and sites across multiple industries.

Pay rate is $26.33 per hour, with responsibilities including patrols, hazard detection, incident reporting, and assisting staff and visitors. Must meet basic qualifications and be willing to work irregular shifts with little notice.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background investigations required under federal, state and local laws.
• Allied Universal may consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in compliance with laws.
• A pre-employment drug screen is required where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Monitor for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or summon police or fire department in case of fire or unauthorized presence.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Observe departing personnel to prevent theft and ensure proper property removal.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities; maintain logs.
• Assist customers, employees, and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
• Make emergency notifications as necessary per site Post Orders.

Basic Qualifications:

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
