Job Description

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Site - Full Time in Durham, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls and more .

As an unarmed patrol officer in a retail or mall environment, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a visible presence. Your role involves conducting routine patrols, interacting with guests, and providing outstanding customer service and communication. You will contribute to a welcoming atmosphere by addressing concerns and supporting a positive experience for all visitors. Pay Rate: $20.60 / Hour

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and following site-specific policies, including emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail or mall location and its perimeter, adapting to varying working environments and conditions as required by the site.
• Observe and report any unusual activity or potential concerns to help to deter unwanted incidents.
• Assist visitors and staff with directions or information as needed, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter potential issues.

Minimum Requirements:

• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
• Experience in customer service is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• North Carolina Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
