Security Officer Unarmed - Security - St. Vincent Medical Center

At Bon Secours Mercy Health, we are dedicated to continually improving healthcare quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness. Our hospitals, care sites, and clinicians are recognized for clinical and operational excellence.

This position supports St. Vincent Hospital and may also support other Mercy Health Hospitals in the Toledo Metro and Rural areas.

The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of all people and property in and around the hospital. This includes conducting periodic checks, monitoring for illegal activities, fires, or hazardous conditions, and responding to emergency situations to assist those in need.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proven dependability and consistency
  • Pre-employment records check by the Toledo Police (small non-refundable fee)
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment physical and strength capacity test
  • Physical ability to walk long distances, work in inclement weather, and perform repetitive duties
  • Reliable telephone and transportation
  • Crisis intervention training (offered post-hire if not already completed)
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 120 hours of Ohio Peace Officers training or comparable law enforcement education, or two years of active duty as a military police officer
  • Valid driver’s license with no serious traffic violations in the past 3 years
