This position will support St. Anne Hospital and may also support other Mercy Health Hospitals in the Toledo Metro and Rural Areas.

Position Overview:

The Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of all people and property in and around the hospital. They conduct periodic checks of the property to ensure safety and security, stay aware of their surroundings, watch for illegal activities, fire, or other hazards, and respond to emergencies to assist those in need.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proven dependability and consistency
• Pre-employment records check by the Toledo Police (small non-refundable fee)
• Successful completion of a pre-employment physical and strength capacity test
• Physical ability to walk long distances, perform in various weather conditions, and handle repetitive duties
• Reliable telephone and transportation
• Crisis intervention training (offered after hiring if not already completed)

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED
• 120 hours of Ohio Peace Officers training or comparable law enforcement education, or two years of active duty as a military police officer
• Valid driver’s license with no serious traffic violations in the past 3 years
