Job summary

Allied Universal in Merrillville, IN is seeking a Security Officer Unarmed Roving Patrol Driver to protect clients across industries, including chemical/petrochemical locations. You will conduct patrols, maintain a visible presence, and respond to security concerns while delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities appropriate for a chemical/petrochemical location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility buildings, operational areas, parking areas, and perimeter boundaries to help identify unusual conditions and help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials as directed, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and report access-control concerns to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and contacting appropriate personnel or emergency responders when needed.
• Document patrol findings, incidents, and daily activities accurately; communicate observations, hazards, and security-related concerns through required reports and shift handoffs.
