Job Description

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol - Part Time in Durham, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls and more .

As an unarmed patrol officer in a retail and mall environment, you will monitor and patrol designated areas, remaining visible to help deter security-related incidents and provide a welcoming presence. Your responsibilities include conducting routine patrols, assisting guests and staff, and delivering outstanding customer service. You will use strong communication skills and technology such as computers or tablets to support your duties. Pay Rate: $20.60 / Hour

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients and guests by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining professionalism at all times.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail or mall location, including both the business interior and the surrounding perimeter.
• Observe and report any suspicious activity or potential hazards to help to deter unwanted incidents within the location.
• Assist with access control and monitor entry and exit points as required by site-specific guidelines.
• Support emergency response activities and coordinate with local authorities or site management when necessary.

Minimum Requirements:

• Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• North Carolina Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
