Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors by following security procedures and site policies.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to locations, verify visitor/contractor authorization, and maintain logs.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and according to procedures.
• Report maintenance concerns, access-control issues, and hazardous conditions per established procedures.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol in Salem, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a utilities location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support access control and alarm response activities. You will provide exceptional customer service and clear communication while contributing to a caring, reliable team at Allied Universal that acts with integrity.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of utility facilities, buildings, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual conditions and help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to assigned locations, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain required logs and documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific procedures and communicating observations to appropriate personnel.
• Report maintenance concerns, access-control issues, hazardous conditions, and other security-related observations according to established procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortability using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
