Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in a security-related role is required.
• A TSA-issued TWIC is required.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, crew members, visitors, and/or vendors while carrying out security-related screening procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Screen persons, baggage, personal items, and/or authorized materials at designated cruise terminal access points in accordance with established procedures.
• Verify credentials, access permissions, and prohibited-item restrictions before allowing entry to restricted areas.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; report observations and concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, terminal entrances, and nearby perimeter locations; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Screening Examiner in Norfolk, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSun08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
