Qualifications

• Active DoD Top Secret clearance.

• 18+ years for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check conducted per laws.

• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

As a Security Officer Reception Desk Security Clearance Enhanced Part Time in Charlottesville, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $22.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSun08:00 AM - 04:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and vendors at a front desk within a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Greet visitors, verify identification and access authorization, issue visitor credentials, and direct guests according to site procedures.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and front‑desk communications; document and report security‑related concerns, unusual activity, and policy violations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, contacting appropriate site personnel and/or emergency services as directed by procedures.
• Maintain accurate visitor logs, access records, and incident documentation while providing professional communication and support to clients and guests.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess an active DoD Top Secret clearance.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
