Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, is hiring for a full-time security officer at a government port location in the Jacksonville, FL area. You will provide customer service to visitors and personnel, conduct patrols, and observe and report activity in line with site policies.

You will respond to incidents and maintain logs, while adhering to emergency protocols and site requirements.

Qualifications

• Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.
• A valid driver’s license is required where applicable.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Background check in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Criminal histories considered in line with applicable laws.
• Drug screen may be required as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment.
• Driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, personnel, and authorized contractors while carrying out site-specific, security-related procedures and policies at a government port location.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned facilities, access points, parking areas, waterfront-adjacent areas, and perimeter locations.
• Observe and report unusual activity, unauthorized access attempts, hazards, and policy violations to appropriate site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific emergency response protocols.
• Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and patrol documentation in accordance with site requirements.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $17.06 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 11:00 AM - 07:00 PM
• Tue: 11:00 AM - 07:00 PM
• Wed: 11:00 AM - 07:00 PM
• Thur: 11:00 AM - 07:00 PM
• Fri: 11:00 AM - 07:00 PM

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a TSA-issued TWIC.

• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
