Job summary

Allied Universal in Plainfield, IN is seeking a Security Officer Patrol and Access Control to protect clients across Retail/Malls and other sites. This unarmed role emphasizes visible patrols, customer service, and adherence to site policies while supporting access control activities.

You will monitor entrances, respond to incidents with calm professionalism, document observations, and contribute to a safe, welcoming environment. This is a full-time position with a pay rate of $18.50 per hour.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds preferred.
• Background investigation and drug screening required by policy.
• Minimum age 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store staff by following security procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies calmly and professionally.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail area, stock areas, entrances, and parking areas.
• Monitor access points and observe store activity for unusual conditions; report concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Document incidents, patrol observations, and other security-related activities per site procedures.

• Mon 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM


• Tue 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM


• Wed 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM


• Thur 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, shoppers, and store associates by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.


• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner.


• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail sales floor, stock areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.


• Monitor access points and observe store activity for unusual conditions, reporting security-related concerns and policy violations to appropriate personnel.


• Document incidents, patrol observations, and other security-related activities according to site procedures and Allied Universal requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.


• Access control and badge experience is preferred.


• Customer service experience is preferred.


• Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.


• Loss prevention experience is preferred.


• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
