Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer in New York, NY. You will protect government locations and corporate facilities, provide professional customer service, and help maintain a safe, secure environment.

This role requires NYS Security Guard license, a high school diploma or GED, and flexibility to work evenings. You will perform patrols, document incidents, and collaborate with site management to deter incidents

Qualifications

• 1 year security experience preferred.
• NYS Security Guard license required.
• 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• License requirements vary by state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, residents, and service providers by enforcing security procedures and site policies.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and emergencies in a calm, professional manner and coordinate with appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of assigned areas and report concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity per site procedures.
• Prepare accurate incident reports and communicate findings to site management and Allied Universal leadership.

Pay Rate: $18.87 / Hour

Job Schedule

• Mon: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
• Sat: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM
• Sun: 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, residents, and service providers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government services location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, including contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency responders as directed.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols of assigned areas, entrances, common areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and report observed concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, maintaining awareness of individuals entering and exiting the location.
• Prepare accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation, and communicate relevant information to site management and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
