Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer (Unarmed Patrol Support) for a government transit location in Hollis, NY. You will conduct patrols, maintain a visible presence, respond to incidents, and deliver excellent customer service to passengers, visitors, and staff.

Position type: Part Time. Pay rate: $18.02 per hour. Schedule includes DayTime, Wed 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM and Thur 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM. Background check and drug screening required.

Qualifications

• Possess at least six months of security-related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to passengers, visitors, and personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of transit facilities, platforms, station areas, parking locations, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, or policy violations.
• Respond to incidents, service disruptions, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post instructions.
• Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify authorized entry when assigned, and report unauthorized access or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity and incident reports and maintain professional communication with site contacts, transit personnel, and emergency responders.
