Job summary

Securitas, Inc. is seeking a Security Officer for a temporary full-time position at our Belvidere, IL site on the 3rd shift. The role offers potential to move into a permanent position.

You will patrol premises, monitor surveillance and alarm systems, manage access control, and respond to emergencies to keep people and assets safe.

The job emphasizes customer service, safety compliance, and the ability to stay calm under pressure while upholding company policies.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Above average computer/technology skills.
• Prior Security, Law Enforcement or Military experience a plus.
• Must be able to work independently and provide excellent customer service.
• Must have the ability to remain calm under pressure and remain vigilant throughout shift.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgement and use appropriate escalation.
• Must have strong observational skills, excellent communication abilities, and quick decision-making capabilities.
• All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.

• Conduct regular patrols of premises including buildings, parking lots, & entry points to identify potential security risks.
• Monitor and operate surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and security equipment.

Schedule: 3rd shift

The Security Officer protects people, property, and assets by patrolling premises, monitoring systems, controlling access, and responding to emergencies to maintain a safe and secure environment. They serve as a helpful professional resource while ensuring everyone on the property follows safety protocols.
