Job summary

Timber Ridge at Talus in Issaquah, WA is seeking a Security Officer to help protect residents and property. You will perform rounds, monitor access, and respond to alarms to maintain a safe environment.

The role requires hospitality-driven service, English literacy, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with flexibility for evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum one year experience in security preferred.
• Experience in a senior living environment preferred.
• Must read, write and comprehend English.
• MS Office familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Makes scheduled rounds inside and outside the building to maintain security.
• Responds to fire alarms, emergencies, and door checks.
• Develops rapport with residents, family members, visitors and staff to ensure security needs are met.
• Assists with special security needs involving employees, visitors and community members.
• Provides written incident reports to the Director and admin staff as needed.
• Delivers packages, newspapers, and essential items to residents.

Schedule: FT Swing shift, Monday-Friday 3:00pm-11:30pm

May be asked to fill other shifts as needed.

Who you are:

• Hospitality focused with excellent customer service skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent in training, education and experience, minimum one year experience in security preferred.
• Experience in a senior living environment preferred.
• Must be able to read, write and comprehend English.
• Must be familiar with MS office products.
• CPR/First Aid Certified or willing to obtain within 60 days of hire

General Summary:

The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all residents, visitors, staff and protecting Community property. Responsible for verifying the scheduled presence of all employees and third-party contractors on the grounds

• Makes scheduled rounds both inside and outside the building to maintain a secure environment for residents and their property as well as community property.
• Responds to all fire alarms, apartment emergency calls, and door checks.
• Develops and maintains a good working rapport with residents, family members, visitors, and personnel to assure that security procedures meet the needs of the facility.
• Assists with special security needs as they arise, involving employees, visitors, and other members of the community.
• Provides written report of any community incident during the shift that the Director of Plant Operations and other administrative staff may need to be aware of.
• Provides deliveries of packages, newspapers, and essential items to residents.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

The role requires the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 50 pounds and to walk long distances throughout the day. Flexibility to work outside regular hours is essential, as the position may involve responding to various emergencies beyond normal business times. Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required. The job involves exposure to outdoor elements such as heat, cold, rain, and snow. Candidates must be able to stand, walk, and stoop for extended periods-approximately 80%of the time-and handle physical tasks consistently.
