Job Description

The Security Officer provides services for a variety of clients, prioritizing health, safety, and security. This role involves working in a private environment at the First National Bank operations and service center, including surrounding areas with regular traffic such as employees, visitors, and customers.

Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned areas visually, electronically, or audibly, including buildings, parking lots, and grounds.
• Ensure safety and compliance with client rules and policies.
• De-escalate stressful situations verbally to maintain safety.
• Check doors, windows, and property to ensure security.
• Report data such as property damage or unusual occurrences per company policies.
• Warn violators and potentially apprehend or expel them.
• Notify client employees of visitors.
• Respond to emergencies, including fire safety and active shooter protocols.
• Possess basic computer skills.
• Issue and record ID badges if needed.
• Check operational status of systems like heating, lighting, fire, and security.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, with no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum two years of security, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Obtain Alaska Guard License prior to starting, with a fee of $97.
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team.
• Decision-making skills with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Adhere to safety and security guidelines.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

Indoor/outdoor environment with occasional weather exposure. Noise levels range from moderate to loud. Physical demands include lifting/moving up to 50 lbs, and frequent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, and other physical activities.
