Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time unarmed Security Officer for a site walkthrough in Staten Island, NY. You will patrol, monitor, and protect the retail location, delivering excellent customer service and maintaining a visible security presence.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as required by law.
• Drug screen as required by law.
• Licensing requirements as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, shoppers, visitors, and/or retail staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of retail common areas, storefronts, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter locations to help identify and report suspicious activity, hazards, or policy concerns.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as needed.
• Maintain awareness of activity throughout the retail location, help deter unauthorized access and disruptive behavior, and document observations, incidents, and actions taken in required reports.
• Support a welcoming environment by providing directions, assisting with lost-and-found inquiries, and communicating professionally with property management, tenants, and public-service partners.

What You'll Do

Minimum Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
