Security Officer - Seasonal Part-time weekends

This position is responsible for maintaining safety and security of visitors, staff, and property through patrols, emergency response, and enforcing rules. The role reports to the Security Supervisor and involves weekend shifts from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Pay Range

Base pay ranges from $18.00/hr to $21.15/hr, based on experience and skills. The pay range is provided by Chicago Botanic Garden, with actual salary discussed with the recruiter.

Position Overview

The Security Officer ensures safety of visitors, staff, and property through patrols, emergency response, and working with law enforcement. The role involves foot and vehicle patrols, report writing, and assisting in emergencies.

Qualifications

• At least one year of security experience preferred
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to complete First Aid and CPR training
• Valid driver’s license
• Multilingual ability preferred
• Proficiency with computers and email

Physical Demands

Ability to lift 25 pounds, frequent walking, standing, outdoor work in all weather conditions.
