Job Description

As a Security Officer - School Campus Patrol in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at an education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and promote a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your presence and proactive approach will contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, while your strong communication and customer service skills will support positive interactions throughout the campus. What You’ll Do
  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities
  • Provide customer service to clients, following security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies as appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner within the educational location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the premises and perimeter to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activity or security-related incidents encountered during patrols.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with students, staff, visitors, and/or emergency responders as needed.
  • Support a welcoming and orderly environment by assisting with access control and monitoring entry points.
  • Complete detailed and accurate reports regarding security-related activities, incidents, and/or observations as required by Allied Universal and the location.

Minimum Requirements
  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • A valid guard card or license is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
