Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check conducted in accordance with federal, state and local laws.
• Drug screening required where permitted by law.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local regulations.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and families by carrying out security-related procedures and campus policies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner following campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, residence areas, and perimeter locations.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and communicate information to campus representatives and Allied Universal leadership.

How This Role Works

• Fixed‑Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and families by carrying out security‑related procedures, campus‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, grounds, parking areas, residence areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report suspicious activity, policy violations, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports and communicate relevant information to campus representatives and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Experience with alarm panels is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
