Job summary

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Security Officer to help keep staff and patients safe and the hospital secure. You will handle lockdowns, respond to incidents, and ensure protection of people and property.

You will join an experienced security team at Basingstoke and Winchester hospitals, working 12-hour shifts in a 4 on 4 off pattern that covers days, nights, weekends and bank holidays. Shift allowances and weekend rates apply.

As a Security Officer you’ll be a key member of the hospital team ensuring that staff and visitors remain safe and the building remains secure. You will be responsible for lock down of the hospital, attend security incidents and, where necessary, take appropriate measures to ensure the protection of staff and patients.

Our key priority is ensuring the safety of all patients, staff and visitors when they attend our hospitals and we provide a reassuring and professional approach in difficult situations when they need us most. We offer advice, support and training on security matters and always look to defuse and deescalate situations to achieve the best outcome. We respond to all security incidents, liaise with emergency services personnel and are a key link when escalating in the event of a major incident.

You’ll join an experienced team operating in Basingstoke and Winchester hospitals and offer advice and support to Andover War Memorial Hospital. You’ll join a shift rotation working 12 hour shifts covering days, nights, weekends and bank holidays in a 4 on 4 off pattern.
