Job summary

NMS is seeking a Security Officer for a public manufacturing facility environment in Pennsylvania. The role focuses on safety, security, and serving a variety of clients with emphasis on rapid de-escalation and emergency response.

You will monitor areas, inspect security points, manage access, and assist in safeguarding people and property. The position requires standing for long shifts, English proficiency, teamwork, and the ability to operate under safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of security, law enforcement, or military experience preferred.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License with a good driving record over the past 3 years.
• Ability to cooperate and work as part of a team.
• Ability to make quick decisions with minimal supervision.
• Able to stand 8–12 hours per shift.
• Must speak, read, write English.
• Safety oriented in a safety sensitive position.
• Must meet safety guidelines and regulations set by company and client.

Responsibilities

• Monitor assigned areas or grounds visually, electronically, or audibly across various locations.
• Ensure safety and compliance in actions of self and others.
• Verbally de-escalate situations to protect employees, customers, and clients.
• Inspect doors, windows, and areas to verify security.
• Document property damage or unusual occurrences per policies.
• Manage site security logistics for incoming/outgoing traffic.
• Warn violators and may apprehend or eject them.
• Notify on-site personnel of visitors.
• Assist in emergencies or disasters to preserve life and property (fire safety, active shooter protocol).
• Possibly monitor safety/life-support computer programs.
• Issue and record ID badges as needed.
• Check systems (heating, lighting, sprinkling, security, ventilation, fire) for operation.
• Other duties as assigned; position has no supervisory responsibilities.
